I'm scared.

Flash Gordon Star is Odin in Thor

According to BleedingCool, British actor Brian Blessed has been cast in Kenneth Branagh's upcoming "Thor" movie as Odin, the father of Thor and his half-brother Loki. Blessed has appeared in a number of Branagh's productions, including "Hamlet" and "As You Like It." But he's most famous for starring as The King of The Hawk Men in "Flash Gordon." Blessed is 71-years-old and is only 5'9 tall. But he's known for his booming voice.

OMG! Ken Branagh's in charge of "Thor"! o_O?

Branagh on Thor

Oh that, that's old news announced back in autumn of last year. :)

Here's a more recent article with Branagh talking about the project:

I am amused by your type (Brain = Brian). :)

Now I just have the "flash" theme in my head, and it doesn't help that one of my coworkers wore his flash gorden shirt today, and during our marketing meeting they wise cracked. Someone brought up "flash websites" and a couple people went "Ahhhh-hhhhhhaaaaa" as the chorus in the background. *head desks*

I've been insanely curious about that book. It seems like a bizarre combination that is full of hours of potential amusement. I recall even showing the book to my sister to see how her head would break.

My understanding was it was still 100% Austen's novel + new lines inserted with zombie crazy goodness inbetween her original text.

Apparently there wasn't enough cerebral action going on, so they're coming out with a Deluxe Edition of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies... with 30% more zombie action.
