Coming up roses...

I went down to Houston and back this past weekend. It's the first time I've ever made that trip, and I was surprised at just how lovely of a ride it is. It has the hills of Austin, but the wilderness feel of rolling farm land and the great pine forests of East Texas. It was a truly scenic roundtrip trek of 10 hours. The bluebonnets were popping up all over, some entire hillsides dedicated to the state flower, mixed among buttercups, daisies, indian paint brushes, and numerous other wildflowers in ranges from lavendar, to pink, to yellow, to white. There was this one stretch of land we passed that I found utterly beautiful, and I'd love to have all of it for me, and a select few horses.
